McKenzie Whitfield: Owner

Whitfield began dancing at Corky Bell when she was 2 years old.  From a young age she focused on her technical training through many genres of dance competitive twirling.

McKenzie was Miss Majorette, State and Regional title holder every year that she competed.  She performed at halftime shows for the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Clemson University.  She competed throughout the country winning titles such as Twirlmania 2-Baton Champion, TU Twirl Off Champion, World Open Champion in X-Strut, Rhythmic twirl, 3-Baton and 2-Baton for her age division at NBTA nationals.

She graduated from Belhaven University with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in 2012.  McKenzie has trained with Professional Dance Companies such as the Atlanta Ballet, Ballet Austin, Houston METdance, Alzono King Lines Ballet (San Francisco, CA), and Sarasota Contemporary Dance.  She has toured internationally to China in 2011 and South Korea in 2014 and 2015.  While in Korea she performed at the Guangdong Dance Festival and Busan International Dance Festival.

Following her graduation from Belhaven University, McKenzie was honored to perform at the Kennedy Center for the American College Dance Festival Nationals.  McKenzie, for the past few years, has been choreographing and teaching technique for competition dance studios, collegiate dance lines, and local dance and twirling academies across the southeast.  Her choreography has won "Most Entertaining," "Showmanship" and "Precision" Awards.  McKenzie also won a "Top Teacher" Award for her creativity and her students technical precision.

She is thrilled to be returning home to Corky Bell as an Instructor.  She is thankful for the opportunity to invest in her students in the way Mrs. Brenda and Ms. Robin invested in her many years ago.

McKenzie now resides in Chelsea, AL with her husband, Brent Whitfield.
