Curriculum

Level 1 Preschool Beginner 
This class is primarily geared towards 1st and 2nd year students, typically between the ages of 2 1/2 and 4. This class will include tap, ballet and creative movement. They will learn fun routines to a variety of children's songs. These routines will teach students the basics of both tap and ballet. Students in Level 1 Preschool Beginner will need a leotard, tights, white ballet shoes and white tap shoes. They will perform one dance in the recital.

Level 2 Tap and Ballet
This class is primarily geared towards 2nd and 3rd year students, typically between the ages of 4 and 5. This class will include tap and ballet instruction. Students will learn basic and intermediate dance steps through a combination of traditional instruction and routines choreographed to children's songs. Students in Level 2 Tap and Ballet will need a leotard, tights, white ballet shoes and white tap shoes. They will perform one dance in the recital.

Level 3 Tap and Ballet
This class is primarily geared towards 2nd through 4th year students, typically between the ages of 5 and 6. This class will include tap and ballet instruction. Students will learn intermediate tap and ballet steps. Students in Level 3 Tap and Ballet will need a leotard, tights, white ballet shoes and white tap shoes. This class will perform two dances in the recital.

Level 4 Tap and Ballet
This class is primarily geared towards 3rd through 5th year students, typically between the ages of 6 and 8. This class will include tap and ballet instruction. Students will learn intermediate tap and ballet steps and may learn basic jazz steps near the end of the year. Students in Level 4 Tap and Ballet will need a leotard, tights, white ballet shoes and white tap shoes. This class will perform two dances in the recital.


Level 5 Tap and Jazz
This class is primarily geared towards 3rd though 6th year students, typically between the ages of 6 and 10. Older students with less dance experience may be placed in this class on teacher recommendation. This class will include intermediate tap instruction, basic jazz instruction and may include some ballet technique. Students in Level 5 Tap and Jazz will need either a leotard and tights or a tight fitting top and dance pants or shorts; sweatpants, sweatshirts and t-shirts are not permitted. They will also need black split-sole tap shoes and tan split-sole jazz shoes. They will perform two dances in the recital. Once students reach Level 5, we strongly recommend they add a separate ballet class for improved technique.

Level 6 Tap and Jazz
This class is primarily geared towards 4th through 7th year students, typically between the ages of 7 and 12. Younger students with more dance experience and older students with less dance experience may be placed in this class on teacher recommendation. This class will include intermediate tap and jazz instruction and may include some ballet technique. Students in Level 6 Tap and Jazz will need a leotard and tights or a tight fitting top and dance pants or shorts; sweatpants, sweatshirts and t-shirts are not permitted. They will also need black split-sole tap shoes and tan split-sole jazz shoes. They will perform two dances in the recital. Students at Level 6 are strongly recommended to take a separate ballet class for improved technique.

Level 7 Tap and Jazz
This class is primarily geared towards 5th through 10th year students, typically between the ages of 9 and 12. Younger students with more dance experience and older students with less dance experience may be placed in this class on teacher recommendation. This class will include intermediate to advanced instruction in tap and jazz and will include some ballet technique. This class is intended as a preparation for our advanced level
classes; students should come to class with a good attitude and prepared to work hard. Students in Level 7 Tap
and Jazz will need either a leotard and tights or a tight fitting top and dance pants or shorts; sweatpants,
sweatshirts and t-shirts are not permitted. They will also need black split-sole tap shoes and tan split-sole jazz
shoes. They will perform two dances in the recital. Students at Level 7 are strongly recommended to take a
separate ballet class for improved technique.


Pre-Jr. Corkettes
This class is available by audition only. Students should be at least 10 years old. This class will teach intermediate to advanced
level tap and jazz. Students may be asked to enroll in additional classes to help improve development in weaker areas. Students should be prepared to arrive on time, with a good attitude and in proper dance attire. Specific details will be provided at the end of auditions. They will perform two or three dances in the recital. Please contact the studio for additional information.

Jr. Corkettes
This class is available by audition only. Students should be at least 12 years old. This class will teach advanced
level tap and jazz and will include ballet technique. Students may be asked to enroll in additional classes to help
improve development in weaker areas. Students should be prepared to arrive on time, with a good attitude and
in proper dance attire. Specific details will be provided at the end of auditions. They will perform three dances
in the recital. Please contact the studio for additional information.

Corkettes
This class is available by audition only. Students should be at least 14 years old. Adults of the appropriate skill
level are also welcome. This class will teach advanced level tap and jazz and will include ballet
technique. Students may be asked to enroll in additional classes to help development in weaker
areas. Students should be prepared to arrive on time, with a good attitude and in proper dance attire. Specific
details will be provided at the end of auditions. They will perform three dances in the recital. Please contact the

Ballet I
This class is designed for students who wish to continue their ballet education once they have started jazz in
their regular class and for students who simply want to learn ballet. This class will concentrate on proper ballet
technique; it is recommended for all students who have progressed from ballet to jazz. Students should be a
minimum of seven years old; there is no maximum age for this class. Students should wear a royal blue leotard,
ballet pink tights and pink split-sole ballet shoes; a short ballet skirt is optional. Students will perform one dance
in the recital. This class meets once a week.

Ballet II
This class is designed for students who wish to continue their ballet education and have either completed Ballet
I or received a teacher recommendation. Students should be a minimum of nine years of age; there is no
maximum age for this class. Students should wear a red leotard, ballet pink tights and pink split-sole ballet
shoes; a short ballet skirt is optional. This class meets once a week.

Ballet III
This class is designed for students who wish to continue their ballet education and have either completed Ballet
II or received a teacher recommendation. Students should be a minimum of thirteen years of age; there is no
maximum age for this class. Students should wear a black leotard, ballet pink tights and pink split-sole ballet shoes; a short ballet skirt is optional. This class meets twice a week.


Baton I
This class is designed for students ages 5 and up. Students will learn baton technique as a group and through individual instruction geared to each student's ability level. preferred. Students in Baton will need either a leotard and tights or a tight fitting top and dance pants or shorts and Ked's-like tennis shoes or split-sole jazz shoes. They will need a star baton. For safety reasons students should not wear baggy clothing. This class will perform one dance in the recital. Please contact the studio for more information regarding our baton program.

Baton II/Jazz
This class is designed for students ages 9 and up. Students will learn baton technique as a group and through individual instruction geared to each student's ability level. They will also learn jazz technique. Students in Baton will need either a leotard and tights or a tight fitting top and dance pants or shorts and Ked's-like tennis shoes or split-sole jazz shoes. They will need a star baton. For safety reasons students should not wear baggy clothing. This class will perform one dance in the recital. Hip Hop
This class is designed for students ages 7 and up. Students will learn the most up-to-date and age appropriate hip hop styles in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. This class will perform one dance in the recital.

Modern/Contemporary
This class is designed for students in high school (15+) and adults. No prior dance experience is necessary. Students will learn a variety of modern and contemporary dance styles. Students should wear comfortable workout style attire and either bare feet or modern dance shoes in their skin tone, half socks are acceptable footwear for class. They will perform one dance in the recital.


School age beginners will be placed by audition or interview in the appropriate class. Please contact the studio to schedule an appointment.
